Expat Texan

Expat Texan raison d’etre

Expat Texan is my 3rd home in the blogosphere. The first site I created, Random Nuclear Strikes, still exists and is active. It was a personal opinion/political blog that was an early entrant into the world of on-line commentary. However, I found the vitriol and bile to be just a wee bit much, and handed the keys over to one of my coauthors several years ago. My second weblog, Life in the Atomic Age, was primarily a photoblog that died due to apathy. Sadly, it no longer exists in webspace.

I started Expat Texan as way to recount my experiences adjusting to a new life in Canada. I am fascinated by human behavior, interested in geopolitics from a most decidedly conservative bent, and wish I had time to become a better photographer.

Before I came to Canada and joined the private sector, I was a tenured professor at a state university in the South. Academia and academic nonsense are also favorite topics of debate and derision.

Wow, I used to read Random Nuclear Strikes but gave up a few years ago. I’m not even sure why I stopped, but I am glad to see you here!
